Community Guidelines: Light That Brings People Together

At Celebright, we believe lighting isn’t just about aesthetics and functionality — it’s about atmosphere, self-expression, community, and joy. With our permanent architectural lighting system, countless homeowners and neighborhoods across North America brighten their homes, celebrate traditions, and express creativity through light.

To ensure this shared space remains welcoming, inclusive, and uplifting for all, we’ve produced Community Guidelines. These guidelines are not meant to limit creativity — but rather to protect the spirit of kindness, respect, and shared joy at the heart of all that we do at Celebright.

Why We Have Community Guidelines

When you publish a light preset to the public Celebright Library, you aren’t just sharing a design. You’re contributing something that may brighten someone’s home — and their day. As our community grows, we need guardrails that ensure everyone feels safe and respected. The guidelines help preserve a space where:

  • Creativity is celebrated
  • Everybody — regardless of background or beliefs — feels welcome
  • Light remains a symbol of joy and togetherness

By setting shared expectations, we protect the integrity and inclusivity of our community.

The Guiding Principles

  • Be Kind and Considerate

Choose colors and themes that bring people together. Avoid naming conventions that might make others feel excluded, targeted, or unsafe. Presets that reference hate, discrimination, or harassment — or that demean individuals or groups — are not allowed. What we welcome: celebrations, seasonal or personal expressions, and joyful creative designs.

  • Keep It Inclusive

Our lights may be seen by people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. For that reason: avoid offensive, graphic, or sexual themes; steer clear of slurs, derogatory references, or stereotypes about gender, race, identity, religion, or culture. Inclusivity is essential.

  • No Politics, Campaigning or Polarizing Public Figures

Celebright is about light, not debate. Political content — including party references, activism slogans, or symbols associated with public figures or ideological movements — can be divisive. For public presets, we ask that you keep the focus on light, color, and celebration. (Private presets are, of course, up to you.)

  • Respect Cultural and Seasonal Traditions Thoughtfully

We wholeheartedly welcome holiday themes from any tradition or culture. At the same time, we ask that you avoid misusing spiritual or cultural symbols, or producing satirical or mocking content that disrespects beliefs or traditions. When you’re in doubt — choose respect and care.

How Moderation Works

We believe in fairness, transparency, and community trust. That’s why our moderation process for public presets requires human review — we evaluate each new public preset added to our library.

If a preset is removed, we’ll notify you with a clear explanation. This isn’t about punishment — it’s about protecting space so everyone can enjoy light without tension.

We Value Your Feedback

We know community-building is a journey. If any part of the guidelines feels unclear, overly restrictive, or unfair — we want to hear from you. Your voice helps us evolve and improve. Together, we can build a space where creativity — and community — thrive.

Our Goal: Light That Brings Us Together

The dream behind Celebright has always been simple: to bring joy through light. With these new Community Guidelines, we’re reinforcing that vision — making sure when one home shines, the whole neighborhood feels it.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. We can’t wait to see what you create — with light, creativity, and community in mind.
