Origin Story

Some of the best origin stories start with an idea and a garage. In 2017 in Ottawa, Dan Junkins was preparing to hang Christmas lights when his wife Susan asked if they could go “bigger and brighter.”

With a background in programming and hardware engineering, Dan built a prototype after failing to find what he wanted in stores. Using technology from jumbotrons, he created a high-quality, app-controlled permanent lighting system. Neighbours soon came knocking, asking where they could get their own — instant product-market fit.

With help from talented friends, Dan and Susan launched Celebright, the world’s first permanent holiday lighting company. Seven years later, Celebright has grown into a 15,000 sq ft facility, with 50+ employees, and 200+ dealers across North America — all driven by one simple mission: bring joy through light.

Demand surged as neighbours clamoured for their own, leading to Celebright's official launch with Dan's talented team joining the venture. Fast forward 7 years,and Celebright has expanded across North America from a cosy garage to a 15,000 sq ft facility.
